BridePop – A blog for Brides, by Brides

Since we’re on the subject of blogging by brides, here’s a very cool site: BridePop. It’s a collection of blogs, written by brides and brides-to-be, with information on all aspects of planning a wedding. They have some really interesting and different posts, and can be helpful when planning your own wedding. If you’re looking for vendors, they also have a very good guide (you can find me here).

From their “About Me” page: BridePOP is a forward thinking wedding blog about wedding-related topics written by a community of bloggers that all share one common interest. Weddings!

Worth checking it out!

What to Look for in a Photographer

I came upon this blog post the other day – it was written by a bride who is planning her Wedding in Los Angeles, and she’s blogging all about the planning (check it out here: A Los Angeles Love) . This specific post was called “What to Look for in a Photographer“, and even though I’m on the “other side”, since this was written for brides, I thought it was such an important aspect of choosing someone who will be responsible for capturing the memories of your most special day. Here’s an excerpt:

“So when you start to consider which photographer to hire for your wedding day, my one piece of advice is to hire someone who obviously respects all her clients. And the way you do that is to look through her blog and confirm that she respects people of all sizes, shapes, colors, and sexual orientations. Make sure he respects each and every client enough to blog them (unless the client requests otherwise). Make sure she respects ballroom weddings with bad carpeting as much as a rustic-chic handcrafted color explosion wedding. Make sure he respects people like you and will know how to make your photos glow, from the inside outward, on your wedding day. “

Hoboken at Sunset

Yesterday we had a romantic walk through Hoboken with our dog Pierre. It was a gorgeous day, and we were able to enjoy the view of the NYC skyline – I never get tired of it.

Planning a Vegetarian\Vegan Wedding

Are you planning a Vegetarian or Vegan Wedding? PETA’s Caring Consumer website has great tips to make sure your wedding goes YOUR way, including information on caterers, where to get your special cake, find cruelty-free shoes, etc. Click here to read it.

Also, here’s a tip of my own: if you’re looking for the best vegan cake for your wedding, check Vegan Treats. They’re located in Bethlehem, PA, and everything they make is hands down better than any non-vegan dessert I’ve had.

Pousada Vrindavana – Spa and Inn

While spending the holidays in Brazil, my sister took us to a very relaxing spa and inn in Teresopolis (a town in the state of Rio). I have to say, I really needed that relaxing time. The place is beautiful, and welcoming. Everyone at the Vrindavana Inn was so nice, catering to our (very difficult) needs – among us there were vegans, vegetarians and celiacs. :) The massage itself was worth the trip! If you ever find yourself in Brazil needing to relax, that’s the place I recommend :)

Merry Christmas!

Here’s to a fantastic Christmas and a Happy New Year, directly from Brazil. There’s nothing better than spending some quality time with my family, and enjoying the scenery of summer in Rio, although it might be strange for some people to connect Christmas with heat. :)

More Vermont…

This time, Killington – a perfect place for any season (although we do prefer the Winter for its skiing) :)

More New York

For our anniversary, we decided to go to New York and check out the new recreation area – The High Line. It’s an elevated park constructed on the old train tracks. A fantastic idea, and the architecture is just amazing.

New York, New York

I never get tired of going into New York. I live pretty close by, but don’t go as often as I wish I could. The feeling in New York is different, the attitudes, the crowds, the fast-paced life, the smells…and the visuals. It doesn’t matter how many times I go, I always find something new and interesting, even at the most popular tourist attractions. Here are some pictures from the St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Central Park Zoo, and South Street Seaport.

Arabian Pines

This Easter sunday I was not feeling well, so Troy took me to a nearby farm as a way of helping me relax. I love horses, so taking pictures of them will always raise my mood level :) I went to the Arabian Pines Farm, and they were nice enough to let me walk around and freely photograph the horses.
